Jose Luis Montano fires 66 at Abacoa to earn his 2nd win on the MLGT

JUPITER, Fla. - Jose Luis Montano from Cochabamba, Bolivia won for the second time today with a 5-under par 66 at Abacoa Golf Club. His previous win was in July 2019 with a small field at Osprey Point. He earned $1,000 from the $6,775 purse plus a $160 skin for a total of $1,160.

Jake Scott, Chris Wiatr and Amateur Nick Hofland tied for 2nd at 68 and earned $600 each. Hofland's in the form of a gift certificate to the PGA Tour Superstore.

Today's event was the first of three 1-day events this week that make up Monday Qualifying School Contest #8 presented by Abacoa Golf Club. The professional with the lowest 3-day cumulative score will earn a $1k bonus to compete in a Monday Qualifier on the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour.
