PLANTATION, Fla. - Michael Kartrude from Royal Palm Beach, FL fired the low round of the day to overtake the trio of first round leaders and win on the East course at Jacaranda Golf Club. Kartrude found himself one back after an opening round 70 but a chip in eagle on the par-5 14th hole would give him a lead he wouldn't relinquish. He earned $1,700 from the $8,001 purse plus $355 from the bonus pool for a total of $2,055 for his 9th win on the MLGT.
Dylan Meyer and Brett Walker tied for 2nd two shots behind Kartrude. Walker tied the low final round of 66. They each earned $1,175 each. Meyer added $75.43 in skins and $245 from the bonus pool for a total of $1,495.43.
In a 2nd day shootout open to players at 74 and higher after day one, Benny Lange won $150 with a final round score of 68.
Next on the schedule is The Citrus Golf Trail Open on the Deer Run course at Sun 'N Lake which will feature the biggest first place check in MLGT history of $20k. The event takes place 11/30-12/2 with a pro-am 11/29.
