PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Dylan Newman from New Rochelle, NY fired 67 on the Champion course at PGA National to earn his 4th win on the MLGT. He overcame bogies at 5 and 12 with birdies on 3,4,7,8 and 11. He played the challenging bear trap at even par.
Newman earned $2,500 from the $16,150 purse.
Talented amateur Frank Kennedy was 2nd alone at 68 after birdieing the last 2 holes. 2nd place was $1,800 but per USGA rules the maximum an amateur is allowed to earn is $1,000 so the remaining $800 was distrubuted throughout the other places that earned a check.
Raoul Menard, Dawson Anders, Tim Pearce and Dustin Denzik tied for 3rd at 69 earning $1,300 each plus $188 from the bonus pool. Denzik had the only skin of the day worth $600 with a birdie on the 14th hole.
A big thank you to PGA National for hosting this event on the Champion course one month after the Honda Classic. The course was in great condition.
