BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Timmy Wideman from Boca Raton, FL needed extra holes to earn his 2nd win on the MLGT Monday on the East course at Indian Spring CC. In regulation he birdied the final hole to force a playoff with Mark Goetz at 11-under par 133.
On the first playoff hole both players had similar looks for birdie from 20 feet. Both narrowly missed their birdie chances. Wideman tapped in for par while Goetz ran it 6 feet by and missed the come back putt to extend the playoff.
Wideman earned $2,100 from the $11,535 purse. Goetz $1,600 plus $367 from the bonus pool for a total of $1,967.
Mike Miller was alone in 3rd one shot back at 10-under par. He narrowly missed a 15 foot birdie putt on the 36th hole to join the playoff.
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Mark Goetz from Greensburg, PA birdied 3 of the final 4 holes for a 6-under par 66 and the opening round led at Indian Spring CC. His only blemish on the day was a double bogey 6 on the par-4 8th. He added birdies on 1,6,7,9 and 10.
Goetz has seven top 6 finishes in his 10 MLGT starts and will be looking for his first win tomorrow.
