CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Tyler Stachkunas from Lake Worth, FL had a roller coaster finish to his 2nd win on the MLGT. After a hot start being 6-under through 10 holes he ran into his first adversity of the day with a bogey on #13. He bounced back with birdies on 15 and 16 but his tee shot on the par-3 17th found the hazard leading to a bogey. He came to the 18th tied for the lead and drained a long birdie putt for the win. Stachkunas earned $820 from the $3,725 purse plus $223 from the bonus pool and 2 skins worth $60 each for a total of $1,163.
Recent Major III winner Ricardo Celia also made a long birdie putt on 18 a few groups ahead of Stachkunas to post 66. He ended up alone in 2nd and earned $776 which included bonus pool money.
Next on the schedule is Qualifying School Contest #4 presented by Britto & Herman Injury Lawyers on Tues-Wed 9/5-6. The 36 hole event will take place on the Champ course at PGA National. The Qualifying School Contest is optional and is an extra $200. The winner of the contest will earn a $5k bonus to put towards the Q-School entry of their choice.
