PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Talented 15 year old amateur Giuseppe Puebla from Royal Palm Beach, FL did not make a bogey en route to his first win on the MLGT. He made 6 birdies and an eagle for a 8-under par 59 on the Match course at PGA National to win by two.
Per USGA rules the maximum an amateur can earn is $1,000 so $455 of Giuseppe's first place check was distributed throughout the remainder of the purse.
Kenny Hess was 2nd at 61 followed by Daniel Miernicki in 3rd at 62. Miernicki heads to the Bahamas in a couple days to start his Korn Ferry Tour season.
Today's event was the final of three events this week that made up 2024 Monday Qualifier Contest #1 presented by Abacoa Golf Club. Clancy Waugh's 3-day cumulative total of 192 (53-71-68) earned him a $1k bonus to go compete in a Monday Qualifier on the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour.
