PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Luke Gifford from Boca Raton, FL added 69 to his opening round 64 to win by two on the Champion course at PGA National. Through 12 holes in the final round he opened up a 5 shot lead but bogies on 13 and 14 saw his lead shrink to just two. After Derek Bard birdied 18 to close the gap to one Gifford needed just two putts from 15 feet to secure the victory. He would make his birdie bid to win by two.
Gifford earned $3,000 from the $23,195 purse plus $462 from the optional bonus pool. He also won 2024 Qualifying School Contest #4 presented by Britto & Herman Injury Lawyers and the $5k bonus to put towards his Q-School entry fee for a total of $8,462.
Bard earned $2,000 for the 2nd place finish. Michael Sweeney and Evan Katz tied for 3rd at 136.
25 of the 67 players chose to enter the optional Qualifying School Contest presented by Britto & Herman Injury Lawyers. The winner will receive a $5k bonus to use for the Q-School entry fee of their choice. Congratulations Luke on earning the $5k Q-School bonus.
In a second day shootout Tuesday among players who shot 72 or higher Monday, Cameron Starr and Aaron Wilson won $150 each with a final round score of 71.
