JUPITER, Fla. - Last year's PGA Tour rookie of the year Eric Cole was home this week before heading to Napa next week to resume his 2024 PGA Tour schedule. He wanted to keep his game sharp and sharp it is. After turning in 5-under par 30, he made a long eagle putt at the par-5 10th. He then birdied 11 and 13 before holing a bunker shot on the par-3 15th to get to 10-under par. 59 watch was fully on the par-71 layout at Abacoa. He narrowly missed birdied chances on the last 3 holes but his 61 was two better than the field. Dan McCarthy was playing with Cole and carded an impressive bogey free 63.
Cole earned $1,100 from the $7,230 purse plus $233 from the bonus pool for a total of $1,333 for his 59th win on the MLGT. McCarthy earned $903.
After finishing 50th in the FedEx Cup this year, Cole heads to Napa next week in search of his first win on the PGA Tour.
Michael Sweeney and Peter Bradbeer tied for 3rd at 5-under par 66 and earned $600 each. Sweeney added $173 from the BP for a total of $773.
