PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - 16 year old amateur Giuseppe Puebla played a four hole stretch in the middle of the round 5-under par and never looked back, winning for the second time on the MLGT by three with a 5-under par 67 at Sandhill Crane Golf Club.
Starting on the 10th hole Puebla birdied 16 and 17 then eagled the par-5 18th then birdied the first. He added a birdie on 6 and a bogey on 7. He earned $960 from the $5,440 purse plus $40 from the skins game for a total of $1,000, the maximum allowed per USGA rules. First place was $1,000 but with his $40 in skins earnings he had to forfeit $40 of the first place check which was distrubuted throughout the purse.
Another talented young amateur Emile Lebrun from Montreal, Canada was 2nd alone at 69 followed by Angelo Giantsopoulos and Nolan Forsman tied for 3rd at 71.
