BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - John DuBois from Windermere, FL fired the low final round of 65 to turn a two shot deficit into a three shot win. After eight birdies in the first 17 holes of the final round a meaningless bogey on 18 didn't change anything as he won for the 2nd time on the MLGT and earned $3,064 which included bonus pool money.
Michael Graboyes and amateur Matthew Soucinek tied for 2nd at 137. Per USGA rules the maximum Soucinek can accept is $1,000 so $600 of his 2nd place check was distributed throughout the remainder of the purse.
First round leader Raoul Menard added 73 to his opening round 67 and tied for 9th place.
In a second day shootout Thursday among players who shot 73 or higher Wednesday, Louis Sileno and Blake Wisdom won $150 each with a final round score of 71.
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Raoul Menard birdies the last four holes for an opening round 67 and a one shot lead entering tomorrow's final round. Coming off his recent Match Play win, Menard continues his fine play and will look to win again this time on the East course at Indian Spring CC.
Michael Graboyes, Angelo Giantsopoulos and Cameron Huss are just one back after first round 68's.
There were no skins out on day one. MLGT policy states that the lowest number of ties on a hole will win the skins. Two holes had three players tied so those six players split the skins pot.
