
LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Michael Sweeney from Enfield, CT is back in the winner's circle after 13 months of good golf without a win. On the West course at Fountains CC Sweeney fired a 6-under par 65 to win by one over four players. His round was highlighted by an eagle on the 275 yard drivable par-4 10th where Sweeney drove it to three feet. He added birdies at 4,6,11,12 and 14 and had his only bogey of the day on the par-3 16th. He earned $1,106.34 which included skin and bonus pool money. Sweeney has now won 22 times on the MLGT but his last coming at Major III in August 2025. He will be out of town this year for Major III and will be unable to try to defend but he is geering up for PGA Tour Q-School next month.
Dawson Jones, Xavier Williams, William Duquette and Michael Mays tied for 2nd one shot behind Sweeney.
Next up is Major III presented by Arise. The 36 hole Major will be contested on the Champ course at PGA National on Wed-Thurs.
