PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – In the senior division for players 47 and older, Hector Zapata of Weston ended a three-game winning streak by Warren Jurkowitz of Avenrura.
Zapata beat Victor Leoni of Miami in a playoff with a three-foot birdie putt at the par-5 first hole after they tied at two under par 70. Each made four birdies and two bogeys in regulation. Zapata had one previous MLGT victory, on July 26, 2007.
Jurkowitz had won all three events played last week at the start of the new seniors’ flight. Jurkowitz shot 73 Monday to tie for third among six entries.
