PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Jhared Hack of Sanford birdied the third playoff hole Monday as he teamed with Nick Lindheim of Delray Beach to win the Golfslinger.com Tour’s Holiday Team Championship at the Santa Lucia River Club.
Hack and Lindheim tied at 11 under par 61 with Billy Hemstock and Jon White of Palm Beach Gardens, who were eliminated with bogey on the first extra hole, and with Will Coleman and Chad Bouchard of Jupiter, who lost out to Hack’s 12-foot birdie putt at the par-4 third.
It was Hack’s second victory in the event where front nine scoring is a scramble format and the back is a four-ball stroke play event. He won with Jeff Hill in 2008.
There were 29 teams competing for a purse of $8,410. Hack and Lindheim received $825 apiece.
The Tour Championship, postponed by rain last week, will be played Tuesday and Wednesday at Abacoa GC in Jupiter with the winner receiving $10,000. Golfslinger’s ninth season ends with another team event Thursday at the par-3 Jupiter Dunes GC, a 27-hole tournament with three different nine-hole competitions. The Team Trilogy will be Golfslinger’s 122nd tournament of the year and 955th since August, 2004.
The team of Jonathan Orchin/Ryan Willis made Eagle on the par-5 fifth hole to win the whole skins pot worth $1,040.
