LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge has won for a record 42nd time on the Golfslinger.com Tour with a 36-hole total of 10 under par 132 on the West course at Fountains Country Club. Lytle shot 67-65—132 to win by three strokes over three players tied at 135. He made seven birdies and three bogeys Wednesday, eight birdies and two bogeys Thursday. Lytle received $1,800 from the $10,540 purse, raising his career earnings to $159,854 since July, 2006. Two of his wins were as an amateur before he turned pro in August, 2008.
Jon McLean, Felipe Velazquez and Charlie Winegardner tied for 2nd at 7-under par 135. First round Leader Stephen Grant finish solo 5th.
Golfslinger’s 103rd tournament of the year drew 31 starters. Three 18-hole events are scheduled next week: Monday, TPC Eagle Trace, Coral Springs; Tuesday, Abacoa GC, Jupiter; and Thursday, Atlantis CC.
