STUART, Fla. - Jon McLean from Weston, FL, won with a birdie on the second playoff hole over Jimmy Lytle. McLean and Lytle matched 5-under par 67's in regulation at The Champions Club. They both had it -7 through 15 holes but both bogeyed the tough par-4 16th and par-3 17th holes.
McLean won $300 from the $960 purse, Lytle $200. They also each won $250 from the optional bonus pool.
McLean and Lytle also tied at 5-under par 67 and played off Tuesday at Legacy Golf Club. Lytle birdied the 1st playoff hole there to win.
Sunny Kim from Queens, NY, and Greg O'Mahony from Tequesta, FL, tied for 3rd with 4-under par 68's.
Next on the schedule is Minor League Golf Tour's 4th WEB.com Q-School contest. The contest is comprised of back to back 2-day events. The first half will be held at Abacoa Golf Club on 8/22-23 and the second half will be held at Martin Downs Golf Club on 8/24-25. The Minor League Golf Tour is guaranteeing a full paid entry into 2016 Web.com Q-school for the low 4-day score of those players entered in the contest. If more than 25 players participate in the contest, the extra money will go towards the 2nd place finisher's (in the contest) 2016 Web.com Q-school entry. The first 2-day event entry is $390, the 2nd 2-day entry fee is $290, and the Web.com Q-School contest entry fee is $200. Both of the 2-day events will have prize pools and optional skins games and optional bonus pools.
If you've already signed up and paid for Q-School you can still play in the contest. If you win, the Minor League Golf Tour will reimburse you for your Q-School entry fee. If you don't go to Q-School this year you CAN STILL PLAY in the Q-School contest. If you win, the Minor League Golf Tour will pay your entry fee into next year's Q-School.
