JUPITER, Fla. – Josh Hart of Jupiter, FL and Brad Miller of Timonium, MD, combined for 12 birdies in 27 holes Thursday at the par 3 Jupiter Dunes Golf Club to win the Minor League Golf Tour’s 9th annual Par-3 Team Trilogy.
Playing a scramble format on the first nine, they birdied Nos. 12, 14, 15, 16 and 18, then birdied the second, fifth, seven and ninth holes in the modified alternate shot format; then returned to the 10th hole and birdied 10, 14 and 18 in four-ball stroke play.
Hart and Miller won by a stroke over five teams tied at 70, earning $650 apiece from the $5,440 purse and an additional $325 each from the optional bonus pool for a total of $975. Another six teams tied at 71.
24 of the 32 teams chose to enter the optional $40 skins game creating a skins pot of $960. Scott Marino made a hole in one on the 135 yard 1st hole to win the entire skins pot.

It was the next-to-last tournament of 2016. The season ends Monday with the Holiday Team Championship at Atlantis CC, the 114th event of the year. The MLGT’s 14th season opens Jan. 5 at Martin Downs CC in Palm City.
