JUPITER, Fla. – Josh Hart from Jupiter, FL, made five birdies in six holes midway through his round Thursday enroute to a seven under par 65 at Jupiter Country Club for his sixth victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.
After Hart, 32, of Jupiter birdied the third hole, he piled on birdies at Nos, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12, then closed with another birdie at 16 and his only bogey of the day at the par-3 17th to win by one shot. He collected $1,000 from the $7,390 purse, raising his career earnings to $33,524 since joining the MLGT in February, 2008. He also received $353 from an optional bonus pool.
Tied for second at 66 were Brad Adamonis of Cumberland, RI, with seven birdies and a bogey, and Bo Hoag of Columbus, OH, who eagled the par-5 fourth to go with five birdies and one bogey. Each received $650 plus $293.50 apiece from the bonus pool.
The 37th tournament of the year drew 60 starters. Three more 18-hole events are scheduled next week: Monday, Atlantis CC; Wednesday, West Palm Beach GC; and Thursday, Martin Downs CC, Palm City.
