JUPITER, Fla. – Josh Hart birdied five of six holes midway through his round Thursday at Jupiter Country Club enroute to his ninth win on the Minor League Golf Tour. At five under par 67, Hart, of Jupiter, edged Justin Hicks of Wellington, FL, by one stroke.
After a conservative start with four straight pars, Hart birdied Nos. 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10. He received $800 from the $4,375 purse, $217 from the optional bonus pool and $140 in the skins game for a total of $1,157, raising his career earnings to $46,758 since 2010. He finished with bogey-par-birdie on the last three holes.
Hart matched par-72 Tuesday to win a second day shootout in a 36-hole event at Wellington National GC, collecting $232.
Hicks, twice a winner on the Web.com Tour, played bogey free with birdies at the first, 4th, 10th and 16th holes, finishing second among 35 starters with 68, earning $743.
Three 18-hole tournaments are scheduled next week: Monday, Winston Trails GC, Lake Worth; Wednesday, TPC at Eagle Trace, Coral Springs; and Thursday, Palmer course at PGA National, Palm Beach Gardens.
