PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Brad Gehl of Carmel, IN, won the first playoff hole with a par Thursday for his fifth victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. With a bogey-free final round of 66 on the Palmer course at PGA National, Gehl caught first round leader Sunny Kim of Queens, NY, at 11 under par 133.
After Kim hit his drive left and out of bounds at the first extra hole, Gehl chipped to about two and a half feet after missing the green on his approach, then sank the par putt for the win.
Gehl scored 67-66 with an eagle, 11 birdies and two bogeys. He received $2,000 from the $11,160 purse, $433 from an optional bonus pool and $4,500 toward his Q-school entry fee later this year from winning Qualifying School Contest #3 for a total of $6,933.
Kim collected $1,500 from the main purse, raising his career earnings to $225,456. He scored 66-67 with an eagle, 15 birdies and six bogeys in 36 holes. Kim has 53 wins since joining the MLGT in October, 2006.
Kevin Jorden won the 2nd Day Shootout worth $214 with a score of 68.

Andreas Halvorsen Berg from Larvik, Norway and Brad Gehl from Carmel, IN are tied for 2nd at 67 but tied for the lead in Qualifying School Contest #4. Five players are tied for 3rd in the contest at 68.
29 of the 40 players chose to enter the optional Qualifying School Contest presented by Joey D golf and ClubCraft. The entry fee was $200 and the low score after 36 holes will earn $4,500 towards the Q-School entry fee of their choice. Second place in the contest will earn $1,300 towards their Q-School entry fee.
