JUPITER, Fla. – Eric Cole of Orlando made four birdies on each nine and did not make a mistake Monday for a one-stroke victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. Cole edged Ethan Marcus of Boca Raton, FL, 64-65, at Abacoa Golf Club. Marcus also had eight birdies but bogeyed the par-4 fifth hole to finish second among 27 entries.
It was Cole’s 45th victory since he joined the MLGT in August, 2009. He won the last three tournaments leading up to the MLGT’s annual summer break in mid-June. He collected $700 from the $3,360 purse here plus $183 in an optional bonus pool and $62.86 in skins for a total of $945.86, raising his career earnings to $118,165.
The MLGT heads next to Breakers Rees Jones for a 2-day event on Wednesday/Thursday. This is a tune up event for first stage of Korn Ferry Tour Q-School October 1-4.
