LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. – Rodrigo Lee of Brazil, making his 15th start on the Minor League Golf Tour since June 29, celebrated his birthday a little early Friday. Lee shot 65-66—131 at The Falls Club to win by four shots. In 36 holes, he had 14 birdies and one bogey, at the par-4 fourth hole Thursday. He collected $1,600 from the $7,250 purse, raising his career earnings to $12,371. Lee turns 33 next Wednesday.
Tied for second at 135 among the 25 starters were Willy Pumarol of the Dominican Republic (66-69) and Gavin Hall of Pittsford, NY (68-67). Pumarol made 13 birdies and 4 bogeys, Hall a pair of eagles, 7 birdies and 2 bogeys. Hall eagled the first hole Thursday and the final hole Friday, both par-5's. Each received $1,100.
Qualifying School Contest #4 presented by Joey D Golf starts in just 5 days. It will be staged at Breakers West Country Club Wednesday/Thursday 9/16-17. The entry fee for the regular event is $440 with an optional $200 Q-School Contest. The player with the lowest score in the contest will win a $5k bonus to compete in Q-School in 2021.
