WELLINGTON, Fla. - Carson Klawonn from West Palm Beach, FL birdied the last 4 holes in regulation and the first playoff hole to win at Wellington National Golf Club. He did not make a bogey and added birdies at 2,8 and 12 for a 7-under par 65.
Playing in the group behind Klawonn, Aaron Wilson drained a 20 footer for birdie on the last to get into the playoff. Earlier in the round Wilson had 3 eagles all coming on par 5's. One was a 30 foot putt, one a 7 foot putt and the 3rd eagle was a chip in on the 12th hole.
In the playoff Wilson's tee shot found trouble behind a tree on the right side. He pitched out and hit his 3rd shot jsut over the green. Klawonn hit his 2nd shot to 25 feet and was just outside Wilson's par attempt. Klawonn made the birdie putt to earn his 5th win on the MLGT.
Klawonn earned $820 from the $3,522 purse. Wilson earned $600 for the 2nd place finish plus $150 in skins for a total of $750.
