LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Justin Whitfield from Atlanta, GA birdied 3 of his last 4 holes to post 67 and had to wait around to see if anyone could catch him. Jalen Ledger birdied 15 to get to 6-under but a 3 putt bogey on 16 and pars on 17 and 18 would mean extra holes were needed.
On the first playoff hole both men found the right rough off the tee and had to layup on the par 5. Ledger would have a 50 footer for birdie while Whitfield was just off the green about 20 feet from the hole. Ledger's birdie try came up 8 feet short. Whitfield nearly holed his birdie chip and tapped in for par. Ledger's par attempt just missed on the high side and Whitfield earned his 2nd win on the MLGT. He earned $1,000 from the $5,246 purse. Ledger earned $680. Ledger has one win on the MLGT coming back in 2016 when he was an amateur.
Matt Hill, Daniel O'Rourke, Alex Vogelsong (a) and Aram Matias Yenidjeian tied for 3rd one shot out of the playoff.
