PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Mickey DeMorat and Daniel Obremski were declared co-champions in Major III presented by The Back of the Range when play was suspended for daylight. After two weather delays that totaled three hours and 45 minutes, play resumed and the final group completed nine holes in the final round. DeMorat and Obremski shared first ($10,000) and second place ($4,000) money and earned $7,000 each. They also added $450 each from the bonus pool.
First round leader, amateur Matthew Soucinek finished in 3rd place alone at 4-under par. Per USGA rules, Soucinek is allowed to accept $1,000 in prize money. Per MLGT policy, the remaining $2,000 of third place prize ($3,000) was distributed throughout the other players that were tied with or below Soucinek that earned a check.
In a second day shootout Thursday among players who shot 73 or higher Wednesday, Tyler Gerbavsits won $233 with a final round score of 69.
