CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Nicklaus Sutton from Charlotte, NC nearly became the third player in MLGT history to shoot 59. Starting on the 10th hole he birdied 10,11,12,14 and 17 to turn in 5-under 31 but then birdied 1,2,3 and 4 to get to 9-under par through 13 holes on the par 70 layout. He narrowly missed birdie looks on his 15th, 16th and 17th holes and then made a 59 foot birdie putt from off the green at the last for an impressive bogey free 10-under par 60.
Sutton earned $1,557 for his first professional win. Austin Duncan and Ryan Davis tied for 2nd at 6-under par 64.
This event was a tune up for 2026 Major I at CC of Coral Springs on January 19-20.
Today's event was the final of three this week that make up 2026 Monday Qualifier Contest #1 presented by Abacoa Golf Club. Domenico Geminiani fired 197 (66-66-65) to earn the $1k bonus to go compete in a Monday Qualifier on the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour.
