PALM CITY, Fla. - Cole Castro and John DuBois were declared co-champions when mother nature shortened the event to 26 holes. Day one saw a three hour wether delay but lightning was the problem not rain. Day two's weather delay was only an hour and a half but the rain came down in buckets and the course would become unplayable.
MLGT policy states that once the field completes half of the scheduled starting holes, 18 of 36 in this case, the event is official and all holes that every player complete will count). So with the final group completing 8 holes during the final round the event became a 26 hole event.
Castro and DuBois split 1st place ($2,000) and 2nd place ($1,500) prize money and earned $1,750 each. They also added $400 each from the bonus pool for a total of $2,150.
DuBois recently graduated from the University of Florida where he helped them win the National Championship in 2023. This was his first professional win.
As Bo Hoag fights to get back to the PGA Tour he finished 3rd alone here one shot behind the winners and earned $1,500.
In a second day shootout Tuesday among players who shot 70 or higher Monday, David Powers and Mark Brant won $100 each with a final round score of 47 (par 46).
PALM CITY, Fla. - Remi Chartier from Naples, FL made nine birdies en route to 64 and the first round lead at Hammock Creek Golf Club. The recent East Tennessee State Universtity grad will look to earn his first professional win tomorrow.
Cole Castro and Bo Hoag are just one back entering the final round.
