
LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Canon Claycomb from Bowling Green, KY and James Piot from Canton, MI were declared co-champions after four playoff holes when darkness set in. In regulation the two men tied at 14-under par 128. They halved the first four playoff holes before darkness set in and play was called.
In regulation Piot was on 59 watch late in the back nine. He was 10-under par in the final round through 15 holes (par 71). He went on to par the last three holes for an impressive final round 61 and posted the score to beat. Claycomb was two back with two to play and birdied the par-3 17th and par-5 18th to force the playoff. In the playoff they halved the first with pars, the second with bogies, the third with birdies and the fourth with pars before sunset set in and play was called.
In a second day shootout Wednesday among players who shot 70 or higher Tuesday, Danny Daniels won $183 with a final round score of 69.
LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Mike Miller from Brewster, NY birdied 6 of the last 7 holes en route to an opening round 62 at Atlantic National GC. He'll take a one shot lead over Jack Boulger into Wednesday's final round.
Aidan Lafferty and Canon Claycomb are tied for 3rd two shots off the lead. 29 of the 52 players broke par on an ideal day for scoring on day one.
