WELLINGTON, Fla. - Brandon Berry from Great Falls, VA stood on the 17th tee 3 shots off the lead after a bogey on 16. He then eagled the par-5 17th and birdied the difficult par-4 18th. Berry's playing partner Ryan Davis made an untimely bogey on 18 which proved to be the difference. Berry's 66 at Wellington National GC earned him his first win as a professional.
Berry earned $1,200 from the $9,060 purse plus $238 in the bonus pool and the only skin of the day worth $540 for a total of $1,978.
Along with Davis in 2nd at 67 was talented amateur JP Parr. They earned $750 each plus $211 from the BP for a total of $961.
Today's event was a tune up for the Korn Ferry Tour qualifier for Bogota on January 25th. A big thank you to Wellington National GC and it's members for hosting this event and giving the players a chance to play the course under competetion before the qualifier.
