SEBRING, Fla. - Josh Goldenberg from Scarsdale, NY fires 200 (68-67-65) to win the 2023 Citrus Golf Trail Open and the $14k first place check. Along with the winners check comes the coveted orange jacket.
Goldenberg started the final round four behind 36 hole leader Evan Davis. Just like round two, the final day would test the players ability to play through a steady rain and wind. Goldenberg went out in 32 to cut the lead to two and then birdied 10 and 13 followed by an eagle on the par-5 14th which would put him three ahead with four to play. A bogey on 16 and a birdie on 14 by Davis would find Goldenberg just one ahead. But a bogey on 16 from Davis would give Josh a two shot lead which is where it would finish.
Goldenberg earned $15,241.67 which included bonus pool and skin money. Davis and Ben Sigel would tie for 2nd at 202 and earn $4,500 each. Sigel added $434 from the bonus pool for a total of $4,934.
A huge thank you to Sun 'N Lake Golf Club and it's members for hosting and to the Citrus Golf Trail for sponsoring the event and adding $7k to the purse!
